PART - 1

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, commonly known as Che Guevara or El Che was born in Rosario in Argentina on May 14 1928.Che Guevara’s birth certificate records his birthday as June 14, 1928, but his real birth date was May 14, 1928.The birth certificate was doctored because the family wanted to protect Che Guevara’s mother from scandal that would come about due to her being pregnant at the time of her marriage.
He was the eldest of five children in a family of Spanish and Irish descent. "Che" is a nickname that Guevara acquired when he was studying. In South America it means "mate" or "friend”. His father and mother were of Basque ancestry. One of Guevara's forebears, Patrick Lynch, was born in Galway, Ireland, in 1715. He left for Bilbao, Spain, and traveled from there to Argentina. Guevara’s great-grandfather Francisco Lynch was born in 1817, and his grandmother Ana Lynch in 1868.Her son, Guevara’s father, Ernesto Guevara Lynch was born in 1900. Guevara Lynch married Celia de la Serna y Llosa in 1927, and they had five children.
At two years old he developed asthma and his family moved to the drier climate of Alta Gracia (Cordoba) where his health did not improve. Primary education at home, mostly by his mother, Celia de la Serna. He early became a voracious reader of Marx, Engels and Freud which all were available in his father's library; it is probable that he had read some of their works before he went to secondary school in 1941, the Colegio National Dean Funes, Cordoba, where he excelled only in literature and sports.
Growing up Ernesto Guevara became known for his dynamic personality and radical perspective. He idolized a Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro and yearned to have been one of his soldiers.
At home he was impressed by the long series of political crises in Argentina which culminated in the 'Left Fascist' dictatorship of Juan Peron, to whom his family were opposed. Those influences inculcated in the young Guevara contempt for the pantomime of parliamentary democracy, and a hatred of military politicians and the army, the capitalist oligarchy and the US imperialism.
